Global Energy Industry Bigwigs to Converge in Daegu in Oct.

SEOUL, KOREA- Ban Ki-moon, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, will join the upcoming World Energy Council meeting to be held at Daegu's EXCO Exhibition & Convention Center in October this year.This year's global energy industry forum will be attended by energy ministers including Russian minister of energy Alexander Novak and United Arab Emirates energy minister Suhail Mohammed Al Mazroui from more than 50 nations, and leaders of international energy companies such as BG Group, ConocoPhillips, Duke Energy, ExxonMobil, and Gazprom.
 
The Secretary-General will visit Daegu for five days between October 13 and 17 and discuss issues of interest to the world's energy industry and the governments, including the future of shale gas and concerns over oil price discovery process.
 
Keynote speeches from Saudi Aramco CEO Khalid Al-Falih and Royal Dutch Shell CEO Peter Voser, plus a special event led by Alexander Novak, the Russian Minister of Energy, on the new positioning of Russia, will be among the highlights of the world's most prestigious energy event. The World Energy Council is held once in every three years and this is the first time since 1995 when the venue was decided in an Asian city after Tokyo 18 years ago.
