For the fourth time since 2004, G&D has been audited by the ‘berufundfamilie’ initiative and had its HR policy tested for family-friendliness. “Promoting the compatibility of work and family is and remains a strategic field of action for G&D,” emphasizes Hans-Joachim Menne, Head of Human Resources. “The renewed re-auditing through the ‘berufundfamilie’ initiative helps us to protect the standards already achieved and build on our long-term commitment, while highlighting the way in which we anchor a family-friendly culture in the company.”
Planned measures arising from the re-audit include, for instance, the expansion of part-time working models tailored to the employee’s individual phases of life and lifestyle choices. G&D’s aims here to take greater account of the needs of employees who care for partners or family members alongside their work, and to evaluate the possible introduction of part-time working models for managers or even production employees. These objectives are further extended by measures designed to enhance age, gender and cultural diversity in work teams. The company also intends to continue enhancing the opportunities available to employees to work at different locations. As part of its training program for new managers, G&D will implement measures to raise awareness for a family-friendly management culture.
