I first want to offer words of congratulation to the Korea IT Times on the occasion of its third anniversary. I wish the Korea IT Times which is still making efforts day and night will prosper. Today, the IT industry has developed into one of the industries representing the nation and has expanded its stage into the world beyond South Korea. The nation's IT industry could honorably compete with other global IT powerhouses like this thanks to the labor of people working in the industry. I especially appreciate efforts of the Korea IT Times, the nation's first and only English language IT journal, for making a contribution to promote Korea's advanced IT industry to the world overcoming the language barrier. The Korea IT Times has played a central role in the development of the IT industry by providing in-depth and systematic news to readers and by suggesting tasks of the domestic IT industry and directions of its development. The Blue Coat men will support the Korea IT Times to make further development by making use of its differentiated advantages based on the accumulated know-how of the past three years. Today, Korea is moving toward an information society that is based on the intangible digital wealth of knowledge and information. In order to obtain visible fruits from the industry at this point in time, it is necessary, before everything else, to grasp a thorough knowledge of the wealth and apply it to a range of other industry fields. I believe that the gem-like articles in each and every issue of the Korea IT Times are fully serving the role of a compass guiding its readers and opinion leaders to a proper course. Kim Shin-bae

CEO of SK Telecom

In this informatization era, to improve the people's informatization-oriented mind is the most important thing in enhancing the national competitiveness. In order to overcome the current economic difficulties, in particular, it is urgently necessary to secure the competitive edge through popularization of information. The nation's IT industry should advance into the world on the domestically successful convergence basis to explore its future. The industry should be equipped with new competitive power to challenge the global markets by correctly grasping the consumers' needs and cooperating rather than engaging in exhausting domestic competition. I am very happy to see the Korea IT Times which was founded to meet such changes of the times making a contribution for improvement of the public's informatization by providing specialized IT-related news stories and data. People's eyes to see the national economy with honest viewpoints are more desperately needed than ever for South Korea to wisely overcome the current sluggish economy and to make new advancement. In this critical moment when the nation is making efforts to become a leading player in the Asia-Pacific age of the 21st century, I expect the Korea IT Times to suggest our future direction by allowing us to maintain sharp insight about the informatization society with broad and fresh information. I sincerely congratulate the Korea IT Times on its third anniversary.

Yu Won-sik

President of Sun Microsystems Korea

We sincerely celebrate the third anniversary of the Korea IT Times, the only English journal specializing in IT, which has been founded for the purpose of providing comprehensive IT information and news in order to keep up with the developments of the information intensive society in this global era. Over the past three years, the Korea IT Times has provided useful information on Korean IT industry to the world, setting the pace for domestic IT industry. As an English-only journal specializing in the IT industry, it has shared useful and reliable news and information with numerous readers at home and abroad. Now more than ever before, the IT industry is undergoing sweeping changes. Therefore, a reliable IT-specialized journal is badly needed to keep abreast with the developments of the international IT industry. In Korea, the IT industry has now become the core part of national competitiveness, and so the IT industry is expected to play the role of growth engine for revitalization of the Korean economy, which is now meeting with economic difficulties. At this point in time, we are in need of a paradigm change instead of simple external expansion. Also, we need insight and intuition to perceive the forthcoming changes. Until now, the Korea IT Times has satisfied its readers with reliable news and useful information, and so we hope the Korea IT Times will continue to make a leap toward a leading English journal specializing in the IT industry, thus providing us with in-depth analyses and new visions for the future. Sun Microsystems Korea, as a business partner of the Korean information and communication industry, makes a promise to contribute to the development of Korean IT industry. Celebrating your third anniversary once again, we give thanks to you.
