GS Energy notified this intention to Petrobras, which is now in talks with Chinese energy companies for the deal. The two companies were in agreement to build a refinery with a daily capacity of 300,000 barrels.
It was heralded by GS Energy as a new growth opportunity as it faces a highly saturated domestic market. Under the terms of the accord, they were going to produce diesel, aviation fuel, and naphtha after completing the construction project by the end of 2017.
