TENAFLY, USA - securitycurrent.com, a security news and information site for IT security professionals by IT security professionals, today announced that Virginia Tech (VT) Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Director of its IT Security Lab, Randy Marchany joined its team of leading industry experts.

Mr. Marchany will provide educational articles and insightful analysis on the most prevalent threats facing IT security executives and practitioners today.

A SANS instructor since 1992, Mr. Marchany was a co-author of the original SANS Institute Top 10 Internet Threats, the SANS Top 20 Internet Threats, the White House-commissioned SANS Consensus Roadmap for Defeating Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Attacks, and the SANS Incident Response Step-by-Step guides. Mr. Marchany also co-authored two cyber security patents and is a co-author of the Educause "Computer and Network Security in Higher Education" booklet.
