SAN FRANCISCO, US - The AllSeen Alliance, the broadest cross-industry consortium to date to advance adoption and innovation in the "Internet of Everything" (IoE) in homes and industry, today announces that Technicolor (Euronext Paris: TCH), a worldwide technology leader in the media and entertainment sector, is joining the organization as a Premier member and will contribute Qeo technology to the Alliance. The company will work with Qualcomm Connected Experiences, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated and theAllSeen Alliance, to accelerate the unification of ecosystems around the IoE.

The AllSeen Alliance, formed in December 2013, expands upon the "Internet of Things" (IoT) to include more functionality and interactions across various brands and sectors, such as the connected home, healthcare, education, automotive and enterprise. The members of the AllSeen Alliance contribute software and engineering resources as part of their collaboration that builds on the open source AllJoyn software and services framework, originally developed by Qualcomm Innovation Center, Inc. The addition of Qeo further strengthens the Alliance's ability to expand the ecosystem of companies working on IoE.

Technicolor has developed Qeo to be a simple, secure and future proof communication framework that enables a simple and user-friendly "Connected Life" experience, enabling consumers to enjoy the full potential of their devices and services.

Today, Technicolor brings Qeo to the AllSeen Alliance to augment its capabilities by enabling a more data-centric publish/subscribe set of application programming interfaces (API). By combining Qeo's APIs and secure architecture with AllJoyn's software and services framework for discovery, connectivity and interoperable services, developers and device makers will have even more options and even greater flexibility in how they implement a fully distributed Internet of Everything.

"The AllSeen Alliance is excited to have Technicolor join as a premier member," said Liat Ben-Zur, AllSeen Alliance Board Chairman. "The combination of Qeo and AllJoyn fits the Alliance's mandate perfectly as we expand the breadth of interaction models for developers."

"Having originally developed AllJoyn, Qualcomm warmly welcomes the opportunity to have its capabilities further augmented by the addition of Qeo. We believe the entire industry will have an even stronger incentive to align around a single standard," said Rob Chandhok, president of Qualcomm Connected Experiences.

"As with AllJoyn, the mission of Qeo is to solve the issues created by heterogeneous and closed ecosystems that fragment the user experience. The combined benefits of the AllJoyn and Qeo frameworks provide more robust tools to cover all IoT use cases in a standardized manner. We are truly excited to be part of a group of innovators that are coming together for the benefit of the consumer," said Michel Rahier, President of Technicolor's Connected Home division.
