MUNICH AND SAN FRANCISCO - The world leading Augmented Reality (AR) software and solutions company, Metaio, today announced that the Junaio Augmented Reality browser is the first AR browser to be made available on the Moverio BT-200 Apps Market.

Junaio – the most advanced AR browser available – is capable of “seeing” in 3D, allowing Augmented Reality experiences beyond 2D printed markers. Available for free, the Junaio AR browser allows users to access thousands of Augmented Reality experiences from developers all around the world.

According to Mr. Atsunari Tsuda, General Manager of HMD Business Management Department, Epson: “Epson is excited to have one of the most popular AR browsers debut on the Moverio Apps Market. By onboarding the Junaio developer ecosystem, we are confident that the Moverio platform features some of the best and most innovative Augmented Reality content available today.”

Taking advantage of the Moverio BT-200’s transparent display technology, Metaio has built a custom “Mirage” edition of Junaio, optimized to run in “see through” mode – allowing digital content to be rendered directly into the user’s view.

“This year has seen companies get serious about wearables and Metaio has made sure that a multi-purpose AR platform is available for developers” says Matthias Greiner, Senior Product & Marketing Manager of Junaio. “Whether it’s 3D object tracking, or real-time visual search, Junaio has always pushed the envelope when it comes to technology –enabling unique AR experiences such as immersive museum tours and Augmented Reality repair manuals. Now that we have brought Junaio Mirage to the Epson Moverio BT-200 glasses, we are looking forward to seeing what our passionate developer community will create with these two great technologies combined”.
