Hyundai Motor will announce the world premier of its new i20 at the 2014 Paris Motor Show which is scheduled to open on October 2. I20 is a 2G model tailored to meet the taste of European consumers.
According to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), Hyundai Motor sold 281,147 units in EU countries during the January-August period of this year, down 1.2 percent year on year.
Despite a 6 percent growth in the region’s new car demand, Hyundai Motor became the only carmaker which suffered a negative growth there. During the same period, Kia Motors enjoyed a 5.1 percent growth to 236,047 units.
Even in terms of market share there, Hyundai Motor saw its share fall to 3.3 percent from 3.5 percent, while Kia Motors maintained a 2.7 percent share there.
