SEOUL, KOREA - Samsung, which ranked No. 2 in the most innovativecompanies ranking compiled by the Boston Consulting Group last year, slipped toNo. 3 this year.
On October 28, BCG announced its most innovativecompanies ranking 2014, based on surveys with 1,500 business leaders around theworld.
Samsung, which ranked No. 26 in 2008, jumped by 24notches last year and ranked No. 2, overtaking Google.LG Electronics, whichranked No. 26 last year, moved up to No. 17 this year.
Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors, which ranked No. 17 and No.36, respectively, last year, disappeared out of the list this year.
Apple kept its No. 1 spot for 10 consecutive years.Following Samsung and Google were Microsoft, IBM, Amazon, Tesla, Toyota,Facebook, and Sony.
Seven out of the top-ten companies are engaged in ITbusiness this year, unlike last year when automobile companies swept the upper rankings.Amongthe top-50 innovative companies, 21 are IT firms, while automobile companiesaccounted for only nine.
