SINGAPORE - Embest, a Premier Farnell company, and STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STMicroelectronics), a global semiconductor leader serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, have worked together to align the free and open-source CooCox toolchain with the latest series of STM32 microcontrollers and expose all performance and feature possibilities enabled by the more than 600 microcontrollers wide STM32 portfolio to developers.
CooCox is a free/open ARM Cortex-M software development toolchain that includes software tools, code components, hardware designs, and community support for ARM Cortex microcontrollers. Developers using CooCox software tools can create, compile and program their STM32 microcontrollers by easily choosing their target device from a list of supported devices.
The CooCox toolchain also features additional components including an RTOS and peripheral drivers, saving engineers time and money when developing their designs based on ST’s extensive line of products.
The entire software toolchain, along with rich community support, is available free of charge at element14.com/coocox. Software will also be shortly added to the Design Center, the industry leading platform for searching and comparing development tools to support early stage design.
