SEOUL, KOREA - Cheil Worldwideannounced on November 12 that the number of its overseas business basesexpanded up to 47 in 40 countries this year from 38 in 34 countries last year,as a result of its effort to expand its overseas networks, aimed atstrengthening its global business.
Cheil Worldwide openedits first overseas business base in Tokyo in 1988. This was the first timeamong Korea’s advertising agencies to make inroads into overseas markets.
Thereafter, CheilWorldwide has expanded its overseas networks, creating presence in the U.S., Britain,and Germany in 1989, China in 1994, Russia in 1995, and Brazil in 1997.
As part of an effort tosecure future growth engines, Cheil Worldwide expanded its business basesoverseas this year, centering on emerging markets, including Africa, LatinAmerica, and the Middle East.In Africa, for example, it established the Kenyaoffice in January and the Nigeria office in October.
