Seoul Korea- Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corporation (aT) has opened aT Center in Chengdu in order to jack up export of Korean agricultural products to the western interior of China, the world's second-largest economy. On December 9, aT Center Chengdu had an opening ceremony to officially mark the beginning of its work in Chengdu.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ahn Seong-kuk (Korean Consulate General in Chengdu), Zhu Chunxiu (Deputy Head of the Sichuan Provincial Agricultural Department), Yi Li (Assistant Manager at Chengdu Investment Promotion Committee), Kim Soo-bu (Head of the Korean Community Association in Sichuan) and Xue Zhiyong (CEO of Chóngqìng yǒng háo Food Co. Ltd.), etc.
aT’s Chinese branches are mainly located on the east coast of China, such as Beijing and Shanghai. As the center of focus in China’s national development strategy has shifted to the western interior of the nation, aT decided to set up another branch in Chengdu with a view to spurring on export of Korean agricultural products to southwestern China through various market exploration projects.
Above all, Sichuan, where Chengdu is located, is a hub of commercial trade and logistics in the western interior of China and is the biggest provincial economy in western China. Thus, there has been a pickup in export of Korean agricultural products to the region.
