Hyundai Motor’s brand-new Genesis was nominated as one of the finalists for the North American Car of the Year (NACOTY) 2015 Awards.
According to Hyundai Motor on December 10, the New Genesis became the company’s fourth model to be nominated as a final candidate for the NACOTY Awards, following the Genesis in 2009, the Sonata in 2011, and the Avante in 2012. Among them, the Genesis and the Avante finally won the awards.
In the passenger car category, other finalists include Ford’s Mustang and Volkswagen’s Golf.The NACOTY award marked the 22nd anniversary this year. The winners are selected through the voting of 60 automobile-related journalists at major newspapers, TV companies, radio stations, magazines, and Internet media.
The awards are divided into two areas—passenger cars and trucks. The names of the final winners will be revealed at the Detroit Motor Show of 2015.
