Vibrating earphone appeals to listen to the move

"Shingi Acoustics Is a frontrunner in the sound of mobile phones," says Choi Kwang-min, president of Shingi Acoustics Co., Ltd., a leading manufacturer of mobile phone speakers, receivers, and acoustic speakers.

With constant R&D efforts and massive facility investments, Shingi has concentrated its energy on developing products that can meet consumer demand for more diversified functions and adapt to the rapidly changing market environment. This leading mobile phone and acoustic speaker maker has developed new top-quality products based on top-class technologies it has accumulated over the years.

Among other things, Shingi has developed a micro bone transmission speaker and an integrated vibrator motor and speaker at low cost for the first time in the world as a result of its concentration on R&D to develop competitive products. With this innovative development as momentum, Shingi has been speeding up efforts to make inroads into domestic and foreign mobile phone markets.

As a manufacturer of innovative speakers and receivers, Shingi staff never seem to stay content until they find success in developing newer technologies. All its products are user-friendly and easy to handle. Since its founding in 2000, the company has grown as a leading trendsetter in the industry and reliable supplier of products for major conglomerates, such as SK Teletech and Pantech & Curitel.

Thanks to its endless R&D efforts, Shingi was designated by the industry as a promising medium-sized company and as an up-and-coming venture firm. Based on its accumulated technologies, the company has developed a micro bone transmission speaker, an integrated vibrator motor and speaker in 2006, a linear motor in 2007, and a vibrating earphone in 2008.

As the old proverb says, “Necessity is the mother of invention,” Shingi has developed the dynamic multi-function earphone (DME) system. Conventional earphones receive sound through a diaphragm upon sensing the pressure of the air, which means it is possible for the user to receive high pressure when the volume picks up and then experience eardrum damage and hearing disorders. Other problems of existing bone transmission headsets is that they are big and heavy, that it is hard to reproduce high-pitched tones, and it is expensive.

Shingi’s new product DME system, on the other hand, has the following characteristics:

1. It can utilize the vibration of the skull, the skin, and microscopic vibrations in the air, as it is of a parameter transmission mode.
2. It creates low air pressure, as it stimulates the eardrum mildly.
3. It delivers sufficient stereoscopic sound by converting the sound according to the vibration of bodily sensation.
4. It gives acoustic sensation through the bone-transmission system to those with hearing difficulties.
5. It can deliver sound even in a noisy environment without interruption.
6. It can deliver sound even under water, as the product is water-proof.

The DME system can be used for Bluetooth cellphones, motorcycle helmets, MP3 players, language-learning handsets, or wireless headsets. The DME earphone provides the stereoscopic feeling when watching a film, playing a video game, or listening to music. It also has a good sound reliability against foreign substances, such as dust or liquid. It also makes it possible for the user to communicate with other people while listening the sound through the DME earphone.

In contrast to the conventional vibration-rotation interaction system, another new product of Shingi’s, the linear vibrator has the following special features:

1. It has the function of adjusting strong or weak vibrations.
2. It gives stereoscopic vibrations.
3. It provides quiet and mild vibrations.
4. It maintains vibration tempo constantly.
5. It gives bone transmission effects.
6. It creates low noise.
7. It consumes low power and creates no electrical spark noise at all.
