Comedian Jang Dong-min, Yoo Sae-yoon and Yoo Sang-moo held a press conference on April 28 to address the recent controversies about their past remarks.
Jang Dong-min has been criticized for his past comments made on his podcast after he was mentioned as the sixth member of a popular show MBC.
He was caught up on controversies for his past derogatory comments against women which was made on a podcast. He voluntarily withdrew from ‘the sixth man project’ and made an apology through his agency. He also made several apologies through his radio shows and the controversy seemed to settle down. However, the comedian faced additional backlashes when the last survivor of the Sampoong Department Store filed a suit against him for defamation.
As the controversy continued to grow, ‘Ondalsaem’ members Jang Dong-min, Yoo Sae-yoon, and Yoo Sang-moo held a press conference at a hotel located in Mapo-gu, Seoul on April 28 and made an official apology. The three appeared in a solemn manners and said, “We feel deeply apologetic”
Jang Dong-min first spoke up, “No matter what I say, I know that I’m lacking in many ways” and added, “While I running the show, I just wanted to make people laugh more by communicating intimately.”
He said, “Since we were only thinking about making people laugh, our comments became more aggressive and we chose to speak violent words. Rather than considering the fact that our comment could hurt someone’s feelings, we were only thinking about laughing. We were very careless. We want to apologize”
Meanwhile, Jang Dong-min has dropped out of his radio show KBS Radio Cool FM
