Samsung Electronics’ premium smartphone Galaxy S6 fell behind its predecessor Galaxy S5 in the performance evaluation conducted by the famous U.S. consumer magazine Consumer Report.
The Consumer Report is a magazine published since 1936 by the non-profit U.S. Consumer Association. Since it evaluates products not by passively receiving products from makers but by purchasing them in stores, its evaluation has earned a high level of consumer trust.
According to the smartphone evaluation ranking revealed by The Consumer Report on May 14, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge gained 77 out of 100 points, ranking No. 3 together with the iPhone 6 and Galaxy S4.
The Galaxy S5, for which Samsung released in March 2014, ranked No. 1 by winning 79 points, two points higher than the Galaxy S6 series models. The Galaxy S5 gained high reviews in battery hours and camera image performance.
Ranking No. 2 was LG Electronics’ premium phone G3 (78 points) which achieved higher scores than the Galaxy S6 series models in the category of camera image performance.
