Samsung Electronics released a popular-type model of its premium SUHD TV as part of the full-scale drive to promote the expansion of SUHD TV sales.
Samsung announced on July 2 that it will launch the sales of a mass-market SUHD TV (model name JS7200) with a 2-million-won level retail price from July 3.
The market price of the new SUHD TV is set at 2.59 million won for the 50-inch model, 3.59 million won for the 55-inch model, and 4.19 million won for the 60-inch model. Compared to the price of existing model (5.4 million won), the 55-inch one is more than 30 percent more inexpensive.
Samsung Electronics said that it applied the proprietary nano-crystal technology for the popular-type model, aimed at giving superb feel of natural colors. To develop the new SUHD TV model, Samsung Electronics cut the production cost by eliminating features that have not been used frequently.
For those who purchase a Samsung SUHD TV until the end of this month, the company will present a wireless TV headset (worth 200,000 won) at an extra charge of 50,000 won.
