Hyundai Motor will place top priority on selling new Tucson in the U.S. market in the second half of this year.
According to Hyundai Motor on July 20, it launched the shipments of the new Tucson in the United States in July. The U.S. sales of the new Tucson, accordingly, will begin in earnest from August.
For Hyundai Motor to boost its sale growth in the U.S. from 1.8 percent in the first half of this year toward the industry average growth rate of 4 percent, the role of the new Tucson is important.
Hyundai Motor aims to double the sales of the Tucson, setting this year’s annual sales target for Tucson at 90,000 units, a two-fold increase from Tucson’s average annual sales volume of 45,000.
In the first half of this year, Hyundai Motor sold 22,634 units of Tucson. Hyundai Motor aims to sell 70,000 Tucsons in the second half of this year, showing its confidence on the quality of the new Tucson. Hyundai Motor America held a media day event for the new Tucson last week where it unveiled the retail prices of 2.0-liter gasoline and 1.6-liter turbo model ranging from $23,595 to $32,195.
