Hyundai Motor's Tucson is sold at more than 13 million won off of the original price at some stores of Beijing Hyundai, joint venture of Beijing Automotive Group and Hyundai Motor Company, according to local media outlets.
Tucson 2.0's starting price at auction was 20 million won, 13 million won off of the original 33 million won. It also comes with a free gift worth 1.4 million won.
Further, Hyundai lowered the price of some of its old models by around 20,000 yuan in China. The price of Kia's Sportage also dropped by 50,000 yuan (9.3 million won).
Hyundai Motor sold 560,000 cars in China from January to July this year, a 10.9 percent drop from a year ago. Kia sold 330,000 cars, a 6.3 percent decreased during the same period.
