Samsung Electronics rolled out Monday its mobile payment service "Samsung Pay" boasting both convenience and security in the U.S. market.
Samsung Pay is a mobile payment service, enabling users to touch a smartphone on a card reader for payment instead of using a credit card. It can be used in most stores without replacing the existing card readers as the service supports both magnetic secure transmission and near field communication, the company said.
"As a leading innovative firm, Samsung Electronics has launched a mobile payment service Samsung Pay, which can be used in most stores, in the U.S. market," said Lee In-jong, chief of Samsung Electronics' B2B development team.
"We will help users come closer to the life style without wallets," he added.
Samsung Pay can be used by Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Note5 and S6 Edge+ users subscribing to mobile carriers including AT&T, T Mobile, Sprint and U.S. Cellular.
Samsung Electronics has partnered with card companies including Master Card, Visa Card, American Express and major banks including Bank of America, City Bank and US Bank for the launch of Samsung Pay.
