Director of the Southeast Asia branch of EPROCENT Technology, Aloysius How, shone on the show floor because he was happy to find the perfect product that has high potential to hit the big time in  Malaysia and Singapore. "Precision Dispensing Technology is quite famous at the moment in Malaysia, and I ran into this company called Ban Seok Precision that showed me highly competitive products that are marketable back in my country," How said. "Our company used to import precision dispensing technology related components from America, but today I realized that Korean products are as impressive as America's. It is highly competitive in price as well."

A Russian buyer, Vladimir Shkkoenikov, pointed at everything and kept repeating the word, "Harasho, harasho!" Although he was limited in speaking both Korean and English, he reached out to this editor with a big smile and the word "harasho" at the show floor. Harasho in Russian means very good. In spite of the language barrier, a single word this buyer kept on sharing vitalized the atmosphere around him.

A researcher from the University of Cambridge was spotted at the center of KES 2009 near the booth of Samsung. Dr. Mark Mann said, "I am a researcher at the Centre for Advanced Photonics & Electronics, and we are currently working on a project that involoves metal oxide systems. We're going to use them for AMOLED Magic Displays. I think Korean IT is one of the most advanced in the world! I am very impressed with the new ideas that are demonstrated at the show."

Managing Director Murat Kulakhmetov came from Kazakhstan representing KAZPOST. "Postal service in our country has a high demand in application of information technology. We expect to find good partners to digitalize our entire postal service system. We also thought 3D technology was very interesting and is marketable in our country."

Some were found in the hall during a break of the IT Convergence Conference. "We are roaming the stalls to find what is new at Samsung's and LG's booths. We are from India and just like anywhere else in the world, Samsung and LG are such prestigious products in our country that coming to see their booth fills us with excitement," R.K. Rajan, senior engineer-export business development of Pricol Limited said.

"I'm from Paraguay. I am here because I have business in IT," began CEO Imtiaz Hosssain Talukder of ISHITA Computers ASHFI Enterprise. "Since I came to learn the newest products of Samsung and LG, my huge interest lies in networking products and consumer electronics. I am very thankful to KOTRA for such a great invitation like this and we appreciate everything KOTRA has provided for us. We see lots of opportunities to do business in Korean industry especially in network products and CCTV safety methods."

Some came to sign the actual business contract. "I came from Ukraine. I am actually the head of IT department at KIEV Plant Relay and Automatic, and we have a big plan that requries many partners.  We've been contacting some Korean companies with our own efforts but we couldn't really reach them as we desired to. This event has allowed us to directly contact the companies of our interests, which we appreciate the most. We have a very positive feeling about this visit and our future collaboration of the project," said Yaroslav Skrypnyk.

"I came from Mexico in search of a new door in business. We are looking for innovative items and for that, this is a very interesting fair. This fairground presents a lot of new things, which are very interesting and approachable for Mexico. Korean product quality is very fine. I have been importing from other countries such as China and Japan for a long time now, but I think Korea is technollogically the most advanced country in the world. It's why we are here. We have 20 employees just for trading. Last week we were at the trading show in Busan, then we came back yesterday, and tomorrow we are setting off to China," said Jose Luis Cortes Gonzalez.

An export manufacturer from Germany attendeed the conference at IMID. "Keynote speeches were very interesting and excellent," Product Line Manager Ludolf Herbst of Coherent commented. "We are an export manufacturer and we sell in Asia, including Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. The show floor is amazing. It is very well structured, and I liked finding the new concepts at the fair," he added.

A buyer from Indonesia said in the KES 2009 floor, "I am an importer of IT technology and electronics. Korean IT products are very good and very new. Price is marketable in my country, quality is satisfied, and there is no challenge in communication. I am dealing with Thailand, China, and the United States as well, but I got an impression that Korean products are highly competitive in every area including the innovative ideas, attractive designs, impressive quality, and affordable price."
