LG Chem completed its global production system for its electric vehicles connecting Korea to the U.S. to China. The battery maker said on Tuesday it held a building dedication ceremony at the electric vehicle battery plant in Nanjing, China.
The 25,000-squremeter, three-story plant is set to supply batteries for more than 50,000 electric cars annually and 180,000 plug-in hybrid cars.
The plant features one-stop assembly line where module and package are all done for the prompt response to the clients in China, the world's largest battery market.
LG Chem said it aims to have 1.5 trillion won in annual sales and a 25 percent market share by 2020.
