President Park Geun-hye met with Prime Minister David Cameron of the United Kingdom on the sidelines of the G20 Leaders’ Summit in the afternoon at a hotel in Antalya, Turkey, on Nov .15.
It was their second summit overall and the first since Prime Minister Cameron’s party won the general elections in May this year, giving him a second term in office.
The two leaders had in-depth discussions on how to expand substantive bilateral cooperation as well as on regional situations and global issues, including terrorism.
They noted that, building on the outcome of President Park`s state visit to the United Kingdom in 2013, relations between the two nations had been deepening not just on the bilateral level but also on the multinational level, including global cooperation. They also exchanged ideas on ways to advance substantive cooperation in various areas.
The two leaders agreed to closely cooperate on peacekeeping operations in Africa, including South Sudan, and continue to maintain and enhance bilateral cooperative relations established during the efforts to contain the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone.
