LG Electronics' OLED TVs are set to renew their sales record this year, with LG's TV production line at Gumi in North Gyeongsang Province running at full capacity.
According to LG Electronics on December 13, the domestic sales of its OLED TVs during the period from January 1 to the first week of December 2015 passed the 30,000 mark, the highest since LG Electronics started selling OLED TVs.
The monthly sales of OLED TVs are rising month after month, surging to 4,500 in October from 3,000 in March. This year's OLED TV sales represent about a six-fold increase compared to a year ago.
LG Electronics attributed the strong OLED TV sales performance partly to a variety of its marketing campaigns, including LG TV Power Sale event. LG also recently installed the world's largest OLED signage at Incheon International Airport, aimed at promoting the strength of OLED to the people visiting or leaving Korea.
