Tablet computers which have been sandwiched between 5-inch-plus smartphones and laptop computers, are spreading wings for revival.
Major tablet computer makers, including Samsung Electronics, Apple, and Microsoft, are releasing a string of brand-new tablet computer models starting from the second half of this year.
Samsung Electronics, for example, unveiled a large-screen tablet computer “Galaxy View” in late October. The Galaxy View has a screen size of 18.4 inches, almost similar to or bigger than that of a laptop. The Galaxy View is mounted with a 1.6-GHz Octa core processor, a 2-GB RAM, a 32- to 64-GB internal memory, a 21-megapixel front camera, a SD card slot, a 5,700-mAh battery, and a stereo speaker.
With the weight of 2.65 kilograms, the Galaxy View is embedded with the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. Users can enjoy Internet surfing or videos for eight straight hours. The new model is optimized for enjoying a variety of multimedia contents.
Prior to this, Apple had also launched a 12.9-inch iPad Pro which features a smart keyboard and an Apple Stylus.
