Samsung Electronics revealed a plan to release a new smartwatch which can be compatible with Apple's iOS, drawing sharp attention from related industries and consumers alike.
On January 5, Samsung America's vice president Alanna Cotton revealed the plan during Samsung Electronics' global press conference which was held before the opening of the CES 2016.
Samsung's global press conference was attended by more than 1,500 people and when Alanna Cotton announced the plan, it drew applause from the attendees. Samsung Electronics' next smartwatch Gear S2 Classic will be released in two types—Rose Gold using an ivory colored leather band, and Platinum using a black leather band.
The Gear S2 Classic, which will be mounted with NFC-based Samsung Pay functionality, will be compatible with Apple iOS, allowing users to download Gear S2 Manager through Apple App Store.
