According to a report from TrendForce, the global smartphone market is forecast to grow slowly by 5.7 percent this year compared to a year ago. However, Chinese brands are expected to grow rapidly by about 15 percent.

Xiaomi’s smartphone fell short of the company’s expectation last year. In order to achieve its goal this year, the company is strengthening its efforts in India and other emerging countries by releasing its latest flagship, Mi 5.
Lenovo has undergone a difficult restructuring period following its acquisition of Motorola. Therefore, the company aims to raise the profit of its smartphone business this year with an annual shipment growth of 20%.
Oppo and Vivo’s combined shipments hit about 100 million units last year. The two brands’ shipments are projected to reach 110 million units. They have also successfully expanded into the Southeast Asian countries.
