Delegations that are a combination of government and private citizens will be dispatched to the South Central American IT market.
KOTRA announced that they will dispatch delegations to visit Columbia and Paraguay from November 22 to 30 to open a new market which is for ITS, E-government, and U-city technology.
Governmental departments like the Ministry of Knowledge Economy; the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs; and the Ministry of Public Administration and Security will participate. Also, the National Information Society Agency, the Korea Expressway Corporation, Konkuk University, Samsung SDS, LG CNS and Posdata will also come out for these delegations.
Delegations will visit the 3 cities of South Central America. For ITS technology, the target is Bogota City and Medejin of Columbia. For E-government and U-city the target is Asuncion City of Paraguay.
Seminars for cooperation will be held in Bogota with the Vice-Minister of Transportation, Dr. Gabriel Garicai Morales; the Vice-Minister of Communication, Dr. Maria del Rosario Guerra; and approximately 100 other government and enterprise officials in Bogota on November 23.
After visiting Medejin City on November 24, delegations will hold a Korea-Paraguay E-government cooperation Forum with the presidential IT department of Paraguay by visiting Asuncion City on November 26 and 27.
During this trip the Korean Land Housing Corporation will write up a memorandom of understanding with Medejin City for U-City R&D business.
The Korea Expressway Corporation will also make an MOU with the traffic authority of Medejin City for cooperation of roadwork field technology and human resources.
Director General of KOTRA's IT industry Department Yoon Hyo-choon said, "Construction of ITS, E-goverment, U-City is a government to government business, if these business will succeed, we can expect to expand this business to other countries." He also said that recently South Central American countries' interests in Korean IT had been growing.
