India's government will hold an auction to allocate bandwidth for 3G telecommunication services by early next year. Towards the end of last year, they created a frequency distribution plan that will be launched and put in effect on January 14th of next year.
On December 22, Wall Street Journal Station stated that India's government will plan to use 3G mobile communication frequency (service) by August of next year. There are currently 22 locations including Delhi, Mumbai, and Calcutta.
3G mobile telecommunication services from foreign countries may also make offers to purchase these frequencies.
