It is being predicted that the number of cellular phone subscribers will be about 50 million by the fourth quarter of 2010. The new paradigm of these cellular phones has shifted from older cellular phones which were only used for incoming and outgoing calls to newer technologically advanced cellular phones which allow you to access many different types of content. Nowadays, cellular phones are multi-dimensional. Not only do we use it for communication purposes, but also to listen to music, watch digital media broadcasting (DMB), and have access to the internet. The new generation technology allows us to access certain information, which makes everyday customers' live more efficiently. The mobile telecommunication industry has gradually been changing. It is no longer the voice and data communication industry where cellular phones were only used for the sole purpose of calling and receiving calls. To meet with today's standards, the newer cellular phones being released have satisfied four out of five of our human senses. It used to be hearing with our ears and speaking with our mouth, but it now includes seeing with our eyes and using our fingers to touch.

However, this shift has brought a more enjoyable communication experience for all its users. Customers have clearly seen the change of simple communication period of cellular phones, to the more advanced and multi-dimensional cellular phone era. Some people are subscribing for two phones which are used separately for different purposes. Currently, existing phones have accessible contents which grant you the power to access information. Other private users use their cell phones for voice communication, information, and multimedia content. For business people, specific cellular phones such as smart phones are being released in the market to access information, organize your schedule, and to simplify certain tasks that need to be done.

With the beginning of a new year, major phone companies are strategizing to attract new customers and to compete with other companies. Most of these companies primary target for this year is the customers within the enterprise market. Strategies for the private customers have already been created and in effect. Earlier this year, KT introduced their FMC (Fixed Mobile Convergence) technology to encourage the integration of mobile and fixed-line telephone services. Other foreign phone companies also participated to create this new service. Popular cellular phones for the new year will include the smart phone, which is constantly being upgraded and enhanced by the manufacturers. Smart phones will continue to be the future of the connection of information and cellular phones. This is the beginning of a new epoch of cellular phones.
