Lately, the mobile communication industry has been rapidly growing due to the release of the smartphones and Samsung's Omnia. On January 14, Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) decided to nominate Ji Jung Hoon as the new senior researcher of the institute and Jun Hong Suk as the new technical editor. They believe the knowledge of international standards within these two members and their ability to lead will serve as a foothold for the institute. At the meeting, they discussed about a new mobile communications technology model, the IEEE 802.21c Single Radio Handover Optimization (SRHO).
This organization includes various discussions of mobile communications technology, including WiBro, radio, Bluetooth and other related technology. Its goal is to create a new standard for the mobile telecommunications industry. ETRI's newly appointed senior researcher Ji Jung Hoon stated, "Mobile models greatest problems are that they have access delay as well as 4G mobile telecommunications frequency interferences. However we have found the solution to this problem.” ETRI's president Kim Hong Nam stated, "IEEE 802.21c SRHO standard will vitalize the smartphone applications. Our research institute has put their best efforts into this technology. ETRI have used seamless wireless telecommunication technology beginning in 2005. However, they have shifted their standard to the new IEEE802.21.
