Finnish Red Cross selects Innofactor as the developer of its “Vapaaehtoisten tietojärjestelmä” solution

The Finnish Red Cross has selected Innofactor as the developer of its “Vapaaehtoisten tietojärjestelmä” -solution in a public tendering process. The delivery will include the design, implementation, future development and support of the solution. The comparison price (excluding VAT) for the contract period is EUR 578 700.

The solution is part of a broader digitalization effort of the Red Cross to create digital services that make voluntary work easier by improving the user experience of the volunteers. The solution will be implemented in several stages. The first stage during 2017 comprises of the planning and implementation of functionality that is critical to the deployment of the solution. During the later stages in 2018 and beyond the solution and its usage will be expanded to include further, more diverse functionality to cater to the needs of volunteers of the Finnish Red Cross.

The Finnish Red Cross is one of Finland’s largest civic organization with the mission to provide humanitarian aid to those most in need domestically and abroad. The Red Cross provides aid to people impacted by natural disasters and catastrophes as well as training helping to prepare for such events. The organization encourages people to look after for their health and well-being and take care of each other.

The Finnish Red Cross has 40 000 volunteers, 86 000 members, 100 000 regular donators and over 130 000 blood donors. It has a central office, 12 regional offices and 500 local branches. The Finnish Red Cross is not a registered association, instead, its operations are governed by Finnish law (Act on the Finnish Red Cross (238/2000)). The Finnish Red Cross is the only organization in Finland which is a member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

The decision will be legally valid after the appeal period defined in the Procurement Act has passed.
