CeBIT 2010, the world's largest digital industry exhibition show is set to open on March 2 to March 6 in Hannover, Germany. CeBit 2010 will feature 'Cloud Computing' as the new phenomenon and possibly the new paradigm for the IT industry. The main topic surrounding the exhibition will be the shift of hardware base computing to cloud computing which mainly uses software services. This event will feature a combination of exhibits, conferences, keynote addresses and corporate events for all its visitors to enjoy. Topics that will be covered include the latest IT products, services, and solutions and will highlight the themes of business IT, ICT infrastructure, and future ICT. Its keynote topic will be a theme of "Connected Worlds" in preparation for the future of communications, software, and internet system.
On March 2, 2010, CeBIT will be hosted by Deutsche Messe and Hines Hoobert of IBM Germany Study Development said, "Cloud computing has the power to become an industrial revolution." Hines Hoobert's goal for this event is for the whole industry to join together and participate together in the advancement of the digital industry.
There will be 68 different countries and 4157 different companies will be participating in this exhibition. Google will be present at this exhibition, and will provide service for their Streetview (a map that provides a 360 degree horizontal and 290 degree vertical panoramic view). Amazon's subsidiary company Amazon Application Service will also be present to feature their EC2 which is an original cloud computing service. Nokia will be present and plans to display their new smartphone model C series. MSI will showcase their 24-inch 3D screen and their new all-in-one PC. Also, this will be an exhibition where many top companies' representatives will gather. Google's vice president Nelson Matos and Amazon's CTO Verluna Gogel are expected to be present at this event.
Traditionally, CeBIT was an exhibition featuring hardware, but this year's exhibition will bring a change with the focus shifted to cloud computing. CeBIT's position on cloud computing is that "Compared to desktop computing, cloud computing will bring in more diverse equipment supplied software and services. This is the signal that a new paradigm in the industry is showing. CeBIT will take notice of this signal."
