KT SAT announced that it would develop telecommunication, broadcasting and non-communication areas such as maritime, air and mountainous areas, which were considered barren areas of Korea's fourth industrial revolution.

KT SAT held a press conference at Geumsan Satellite Center in South Chungcheong Province on Thursday morning and announced its vision to implement hyper-Connected mobility that can connect to networks from anywhere via satellite.

KT will strengthen the benefits of 5G services to the ocean, mountainous areas and deserts through the common standardization and ecosystem activation of 5G, the next-generation mobile communication technology led by KT.

KT SAT is pushing to commercialize satellite quantum cryptography communication. To this end, it is participating in R&D business with KT Fusion Technology Institute. Quantum communication is a technology that uses characteristics of quantum to encrypt and transmit specific information.

KT SAT also applies blockchain technology directly to its service. It is planning to introduce a strong security policy for distribution of documents and marine commerce information by applying blockchain technology to satellite network and maritime network.

Quantum cryptography communication and block-chaining technologies are expected to become major technologies in next-generation maritime telecommunication markets as they can be applied to strong telecommunication security that is needed for Connected ship.

The KT SAT is also considering satellite projects that can be promoted in North Korea in the wake of south and north korea economic cooperation era.

In North Korea, where South Korea's telecommunication and broadcasting networks are not distributed, the North Korean network is expected to be an effective means of linking the two Koreas to communication and broadcasting.
