On April 19, 2010, Barun Electronics Co. announced their plans to extend their production lines due to the high demands of their flash memory cards. Barun Electronic's production factory in Hwaseong-si, Kyung-ki-do currently mass produces parts for cell phones, PMP's, MID's, navigations, and notebooks. Also, they produce microSD and UFD, and SD cards for major cell phone companies. They plan to increase their standard of production by 50 percent, increasing their current 42 million products made to a total of 63 million products.
Barun Electronics recent overseas supply and OEM sales caused the sudden increase of production. The company plans to expand their production line starting in June. A Barun Electronics representative stated, "This line extension is to meet the market's demand. Also, last December, we planned to handle America's and Europe's market demand by increasing the production scale by 20 percent, and hopefully the production and fixed costs will be reduced as well." He also stated, "This production line extension will reach the company's goal of KRW 190 billion in sales and KRW 9 billion in business profits. This will be a 27 percent and 128 percent growth respectively."
