Woori Bank made an announcement on June 11 that Chief Executive Son Tae-seung and his staff visited the “AkshyaPrastisthan” school in Gurgaon, India on June 10 to make donations and make social contribution activities.
Chief Executive Son, who visited India from June 8 to June 10 as a member of the Presidential Economic Mission, visited the AkshuyaPrattistan school and held a donation event.
The school was established in 1987 to educate underprivileged children, including the low-income and disabled students, and currently has over 200 students currently enrolled.
“We are a global bank with 413 networks in 25 countries around the world. We will continue our social contribution activities so that Indian communities and banks can grow together,” said Son, Chief Executive of Woori Bank.
Meanwhile, Woori bank is seeking to establish a local corporation to target the financial market in India with 1.3 billion people. Starting with its New Delhi office in 2007, it opened its Chennai branch in India in 2012, and finally establish branches in Mumbai and Gurgeon in 2017.
