Analyst inspection of the recent Australian budget reveals distinct IT opportunities for Korean expertise. Australia is beginning to refine the value of their government data and opportunities with new investment planned for e-health solutions that have thus far eluded successive Australian governments. New investment is also slated for aspects of Australian national security and enforcement.
An analyst report of the Australian budget revealed that health is a major area of focus for the Australian government, particularly the proposed National Health and Hospitals Network. 'Funding ($466.7 million), has also been allocated to provide personally controlled electronic health records. E-health has always been a frustratingly difficult area for successive Australian governments to make any real progress [in Australia],' said the analyst. The long term nature of solutions required in these areas of spending shows that the Australian government will be looking to vendors, suppliers and solutions from those with track records.
To bolster Australian security and enforcement, 'National Security received significant funding for enhanced intelligence gathering, biometrics, and border control. Funds are spread over a number of agencies including Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Australian Federal Police, the Australian Security and Intelligence Organization, the Attorney General's Department, the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service, the Australian Crime Commission, and the Australian Secret Intelligence Service,' reported the analyst.
Korea and Korean products and services have been leaders in creation and implementation of in many of the areas that the Australian government seeks to refine with solutions. Similar to Korean economic recovery and growth, the Australian government seeks to reduce debt long term with solutions and many of the IT solutions provisioned for the Australian government will impact the speed of Australian economic growth.
