“Let`s establish SK`s management goal as sustainable members’ happiness and improve the execution of happiness management,” said SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won.
He has started to strengthen happy management by revising SK Management System (SKMS), which is the group's management philosophy and the principle of execution. SK Corp. said on Feb. 20 that it has revised SKMS to emphasize the happiness of its members and stakeholders.
The revised SKMS calls for expanding the scope of stakeholders in happiness management to customers, shareholders and social and business partners, and conceptualizing the happiness of stakeholders to be pursued together as "social values."
Chairman Chey announced for 15 minutes the purpose of the 14th revision of SKMS and the core contents of SKMS at the announcement ceremony held on Feb. 18.
"We revised SKMS to establish SK management's goal as a sustainable members’ happiness and to realize happiness through the pursuit of SUPEX through voluntary and motivated brain utilization," Chey said. "Since SKMS is a way of working with our faith that we promised to implement together, let's use the new SKMS as a compass to enhance the viability of happy management."
Meanwhile, SKMS, which was first established in 1979 by the late SK Group Chairman Chey Jong-hyun, has been revised to meet the management environment and social needs for the past 41 years.
"SKMS served as the foundation of SK Group's strong corporate culture to overcome crises whenever it faced tough business conditions at home and abroad, such as the oil shock in the 1970s, the foreign exchange crisis in the 1990s, and the global financial crisis in the 2000s," an SK official said.
