NC SOFT CEO Kim Taek-jin said, "NC SOFT aims to grow into a global comprehensive company that encompasses all platforms, including PCs, mobile devices and consoles, this year."
"We plan to focus our enterprise-wide capacity on entering the global market in 2020," Kim said in a greeting on a regular shareholders' meeting held at the Pangyo office in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, on March 25.
"NC SOFT has opened up new possibilities for mobile MMORPG through Lineage 2M, which was released in November last year," he said. "We are confidently preparing for our new game based on our experiences and achievements from mobile and PC."
"This year, NCSOFT is gathering its wisdom to implant its successful experience in creating domestic mobile MMORPG markets into the global market," he added. "Starting with Lineage 2M, we will be more aggressive in targeting global markets through new games."
NCSOFT recently added more workers to its Southeast Asian business. The company is believed to have set up branches in North America, Europe, Japan and Taiwan, and then expand its business to Asia. Until now, NC SOFT has been evaluated as somewhat vulnerable to foreign sectors compared to Nexon and Netmarble.
"The ever-growing global console game market will also be a new stage for NC SOFT," Kim said. "NC SOFT is currently preparing a number of console games and is also developing new genres of games."
"We are going to expand our platform from PC to mobile, and further to console and grow into a global comprehensive game company by crossing boundaries."
Meanwhile, NC SOFT demonstrated FUSER, a new game of console and PC platforms, at the game show "PAX East 2020" held in Boston last month. The FUSER is an interactive music game published by NC West and produced by Harmonix, a U.S.-based developer specializing in music rhythm games.
