Marry Me!

Several 130mm tall, 76mm wide, and 12.6mm thin external hard drives have dressed in orange, silver, and blue and posed on the shelf at the CNS-iodd booth of CeBIT 2009. These slim and brand new beauties got brains that could contain an elephant's memories. When the dropdead gorgeous show no signs of being airheads, you must check them out.

Meet the Parents

“In companies, there are many Linux servers. In order to install an OS on the company's Linux server, ODD must be installed to each of them, yet CDs must be burned every three months to update the OS depending on the amount of upgrades. Those CDs are nothing but garbage in the end. Since the IT trend is finding solutions for an environmentally-friendly future, we researched and developed this product, which gave birth to iodd,” Director Ko Bong-seok explained. “By simply connecting the iodd to a computer with a USB cable and pushing the file selection switch to select any ISO file, automatic loading begins,” Ko has explained.

Suitors in Line

iodd external hard drives as described by Ko Bong-seok, director of CNS
This external hard drive is great news for movie lovers who keep movies or TV shows on their hardware. The 350 gigabyte iodd is more than enough to save everything from music to movies to documents. Netbook or wind book users have been satisfied with its convenience and lightness, yet have to compromise with the lack of hard drive capacity and CDROM drive. CNS' Portable Virtual Rom, the iodd external hard drive, is born to store a large quantity of files and functions as a CD/DVD emulator. That is not the end of the surprises. Since the front side of the iodd is an OLED display panel and the back side is covered in aluminum, no matter how long a user keeps it on it never heats up.

The name CNS stands for Computer and Storage. CNS' iodd is currently listed as one of the top ten products in Korea, and is soon to be listed as a world premier first product with patents.
