Dyetec, which has been developing alternative products and playing a social role in the midst of the "COVID-19" mask crisis, has developed and released cool masks for summer, drawing attention.

Dyetec announced that it will sell 'Summer Cool Mask' through SH Company from June 17. This cool mask was developed by Dyetec at the request of the Daegu city government.

The Cool Mask uses differentiated material, fabric, and sewing methods from existing masks on the market. In particular, it used the functional yarn "Askin" of Hyosung Corp., a South Korean conglomerate, as cold-sensitive materials and also used Hyosung's "aerocool" yarn as cool and comfort materials. The two yarns are representative materials used in summer sports clothing.

"We selected the materials in consideration of ventilation so that it can cool down the heat in the mouth and quickly suck out the heat in the mouth and send it out," said an official of Dyetec.

In particular, the core of the cool mask developed by Dyetec is the 'composite weaving'. It implemented the functions of the two yarns simultaneously.

Thanks to the composite weaving of cold-sensitive material and cool and comfort material, it can be washed while maintaining the shape of the mask, allowing it to be reused as much as possible, the official said.

Even in sewing, Dyetec considered design and functionality as much as possible. The top of the mask was saved without incision, rather than the conventional method of making a complete incision and joining in order to provide the three-dimensional space as much as possible. This makes breathing easier and more cold.

Apart from the cool masks that will be used in Daegu City, Dyetec has produced a limited number of 1 million cool masks that can be purchased by consumers. Dyetec will be in charge of quality control and quality verification for the all-production process.

"The reason why production quantity is limited is because of difficulties in supply and demand of cold-sensitive materials (Askin)." said a representative for Dyetec.
