LG Electronics said on June 18 that it has tested LG Electronics' Tromm Styler to remove more than 99.99 percent of the virus in masks as well as clothing.
LG Electronics recently conducted a research to verify Tromm Styler's ability to remove viruses. According to a test result by Chonnam National University's Industrial-Academic Cooperation Group, Styler's sanitary sterilization function has eliminated 99.99 percent of viruses such as Influenza A (H3N2), Adeno (ICHV), Herpes (IBRV), and Corona (PEDV).
The corona (PEDV) used in the experiment is a type of corona virus that is different from coronavirus infection-19 (COVID-19).
Styler removed more than 99.99 percent of the same virus after the same experiment on masks as well as clothing.
The test covered a health KF94 mask that blocks more than 94 percent of dust particles and a relatively low level of cotton mask that filters out the sprays.
After putting KF94 mask in the stylist and using the sterilization function one to three times, the ratio of filtering fine dust and the degree of ease of breathing after wearing the mask met the rating criteria.
Since LG Electronics introduced the Tromm Styler in 2011, there have been 220 global patents related to the product.
"Based on differentiated technologies, we will allow more customers to experience the new concept of clothing management provided by Tromm Styler," said Ryu Jae-chul, vice president of Living Appliance Business Department at LG Electronics' H&A business division.
