COM2US, a mobile game company, announced on June 22 that it will simultaneously recruit players from all over the world from June 22 to July 6 for the global e-sports competition "Summoners War: Sky Arena World Championship 2020 (SWC 2020).
"SWC" was successfully launched in 2017 when the SWC Los Angeles World Final was held in the first year. Since then, it has been targeting all over the world every year and has established itself as a representative global mobile e-sports competition.
The SWC continued to grow with the support of e-sports fans every year. During the live broadcast of the World Finals in Paris last year, it recorded about 1.25 million views.
Marking its fourth anniversary this year, the "SWC 2020" will host all games online without spectators, taking into account the prevention of the spread of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and the safety of participating athletes and spectators as the top priority.
To allow global e-sports fans to watch in real time, all games of "SWC 2020" will be broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of "Summoners War."
The event will be divided into three continents, the Asia Pacific Cup, the European Cup and the American Cup, with a total prize money of 210,000 U.S. dollars.
Starting with the first preliminary round at the end of August, a total of eight regional players will be selected at the regional cup. In the World Finals in November, it will be the final match to determine just one world champion.
All matches from the preliminary round to the World Finals will be held in the same "SWC mode" as in the last competition.
In the preliminary round, even a once-defeated player can get a chance to revive. As a result, the competition plans to give players more chances to match, giving them fairness and fun to the audience.
Applications for the event will be made through the "SWC 2020" in the game. Among the applicants, players will be selected based on their respective season performances of "World Arena" season 12 and 13, which are real-time PvP content between "Summoners War" users.
