Kolmar Korea has developed Korea's first sunscreen that removes oil.
Kolmar Korea, a global cosmetics ODM manufacturing company, announced on July 9 that it has developed an oil-free sunscreen that consists of only moisture and soluble ingredients and completed patent registration. This is the first time in Korea that sunscreen does not contain any oil ingredients.
Kolmar Korea overcame its limitations with a technology that reliably combines soluble ingredients that have UV protection effects. Since the existing sunscreen component was oil, it was best to mix moisture and oil well in order to produce moisturizing functions.
However, the technology that stably stores this soluble ingredient in a viscous agent has created a fully functional sunscreen without oil.
Kolmar Korea expects the oil-free sunscreen to relieve skin troubles caused by existing oil types. It is made of a moist gel type so that it can feel moisture and freshness without stickiness and glossiness, so that it can play a sufficient role as a skincare.
It was also recognized as the best function of sunscreen. By blocking UVA and UVB with strong heat, it has secured SPF50+ and PA++++, which are the best indices for UV protection.
In addition, Kolmar Korea is leading the market for sunscreen with its innovative technology. Last year, it developed an emulsion sunstick with high moisture content, enhancing the convenience and competitiveness of sunscreen.
In March, the company also developed a technology to block harmful light such as blue light and applied for PCT.
"Kolmar Korea continues to evolve by developing sunscreen that reflects consumers' needs every year," said Gye Seong-bong, head of the makeup research institute.
"We will continue to maintain our reputation as the No. 1 company in the global sunscreen by devoting research and development through various convergence technologies and understanding trends."
