FCA Korea CEO Pablo Rosso has been suspended for allegedly sexually harassing, verbally abusing and assaulting employees.
According to related industry sources on July 28, FCA and Asia-Pacific regional headquarters have suspended Rosso's duties as of July 24. It is also known that the headquarters is conducting an investigation.
Earlier on July 22, a message was posted on the bulletin board of the presidential office Cheong Wa Dae calling for punishment of CEO Rosso. The petitioner said, "I heard that CEO Rosso had asked me to answer which female employee I wanted to have sex and told me several times which female employee he wanted to have sex with."
The petitioner also claimed that Rosso had physically and mentally assaulted and insulted employees by hitting them on the cheek and head.
"We have reported several times to the Ministry of Personnel Management, the Asian regional headquarters, and the headquarters, but there has been no response," the petitioner said. "The company is tracking down the employee who reported the problem."
In response, FCA Korea said that it is aware of the issue, and is currently in the process of confirming the facts inside and taking action in accordance with the procedure after review.
FCA Korea is responsible for selling and servicing SUV brand Jeeps in Korea. CEO Rosso has been leading the company since 2012. He was also appointed as the first foreign president of the Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association earlier this year.
