Atomy has concluded a strategic technology partnership with MOFAC, a global company specializing in visual effects (VFX).
Atomy announced on Aug. 10 that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with MOFAC at Atomy Park in Gongju City on Aug. 5 with Atomy Chairman Park Han-gil and MOFAC CEO Jang Sung-ho attending.
Recently, Atomy has set new standards for on-tact businesses in the "untact" era by converting the massive offline event, the Success Academy, into a real-time online broadcast.
It is also making efforts to develop XR (extended reality) contents such as AR (augmented reality) and MR (mixed reality) that will be applied to the on-tact business.
Atomy Chairman Park said, "We are very happy to be able to join hands with the world's top VFX expert group, MOFAC. Atomy will present the new normal of direct sales in the untact era with MOFAC."
Meanwhile, Lino Park, head of Atomy's ENM business division, said, "Atomy is making its first attempt in the world to commercialize XR. The future direct sales will be a fun business."
Atomy and MOFAC are planning to lead the commercialization of XR contents through this MOU while also leading the Korean Wave in the XR market.
"In particular, Atomy expects to break the limits of direct sales and establish itself as a leading company in the untact era," an Atomy official said.
Atomy is a network marketing company that sells cosmetics and health foods online, and it made 1.13 trillion won (some $0.95 billion) in sales and 105.4 billion won ($88.6 million) in operating profit last year.
