Com2uS announced on Aug. 13 that it has completed the selection of preliminary contestants for the "Summoners War World Arena Championship 2020 (SWC 2020)," a global e-sports competition of the global hit "Summoners War: Sky Arena."

Participants in the "SWC 2020" were selected based on their respective performances in the "World Arena" season 12-13, which is a real-time PvP content between "Summoners War" users, among applicants registered through the participating pages until early July.

Through this, Com2uS has confirmed a total of 72 qualifiers, including 40 Asia Pacific players, 16 Americans and 16 Europeans, and will hold preliminary matches for each country and continent at the SWC 2020 from the end of August.

As this competition is held online to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to protect the audience, hidden masters who have been difficult to meet in offline competitions have participated in the event, raising expectations.

First of all, "HOWTOPLAY," which won the top spot in the two seasons of "World Arena" (season 10, 13) in the game, participated as a player for the first time in the competition, drawing attention from fans. A Japanese player, who is currently working as an actor, has also been named to the preliminary roster.

The challenges of traditional strong players continue. Familiar players such as "SKIT," who competed as South Korea's representative in 2017, the first year of the "SWC," and "LUCKYGOD," who participated in last year's competition, were named as preliminary participants.

In addition to "THOMPSIN," the final runner-up last year, "TREE,"  who attended the competition for the fourth consecutive year, "BAUS" and "ROSITH," which took first and second place in the European Cup, as well as "OBABO," who played for Sweden in last year's Korea-Sweden e-sports friendly match, will be able to meet again in the preliminary round.

Since its successful launch in 2017, 'SWC' has been held around the world every year, establishing itself as a representative global mobile e-sports competition. Starting with the first qualifying round on Aug. 29, the SWC2020 will host regional cups for each continent to select a total of eight regional representative players and determine only one world champion in the World Finals in November.
