SK Telecom is going to introduce its first mobile banking service app, called IM Bank, which is applied with 5G quantum security technology, in the middle of next month by joining hands with DGB Daegu Bank.

For the first time in the world, both companies have completed joint development with the goal of implementing financial services based on quantum security in 5G Smartphones.

The two companies are accompanying each other with the intention of expanding the ecosystem of the quantum security industry into the financial sector to lead the "TechFin" market. Last year, the company introduced "T high5 installment savings" that offered interest rate benefits of up to 5 percent, which was also sensational.

Quantum Security Mobile Banking is a service exclusively for Galaxy A Quantum, the world's first quantum security smartphone. Starting next month, DGB Daegu Bank's mobile banking app "IM Bank" will allow customers to safely protect personal information when transferring accounts to digital OTP (six digits) or when signing up or opening an account through ID authentication procedures.

Usually, digital OTP numbers and ID card authentication information are sent to the DGB Daegu Bank and the Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute's servers one by one after the encryption process, which can cause massive damage if a third party hacks into the password.

SK Telecom and its subsidiary IDQ have succeeded in sharing the open API of Galaxy A Quantum with DGB Daegu Bank and implementing related functions, and are considering applying quantum security technology to DGB Daegu Bank and other services in the future.

"Since releasing the world's first quantum security smartphone in May, sales have continued to be strong and we are applying quantum security to various services," said Han Myung-jin, head of SK Telecom's MNO marketing group. "We will integrate the world's best quantum security technology into various fields such as finance and IoT."
