Following OLED TVs, LG Display is also planning to launch a full-fledged market for transparent OLEDs. LG Display made an announcement on Aug. 21 that it recently supplied the world's first transparent OLEDs for windows in its subway cabin vehicles in Beijing and Shenzhen.

Because of this, they subways are receiving high attention in various fields such as smart homes and smart buildings, not to mention mobility customers such as self-driving cars, aircraft, and subways.
The 55-inch transparent OLED, which is installed in the Beijing (Line 6) and Shenzhen (Line 10), shows passengers real-time life information services such as weather forecasts and news, as well as traffic information such as train operation information, location information, subway transfer information, and real-time flight information.
Starting with this supply, LG Display is planning to expand the supply of transparent OLEDs to major subway stations in cooperation with railway companies and train glass companies.
According to global consulting firm Prescient & Strategic Intelligence, the market for transparent displays is expected to grow to $4.93 billion (6 trillion won) in 2024, an annual average of 46 percent growth rate.
