The hot liquid passes upward and the cold liquid passes downward to increase heat transfer efficiency. This company makes the product more advantageous than the other types of heat exchangers, such as Shell & Tube, because the corrugations in the plates increase the liquid turbulence to a low Reynolds number.
Moreover, the liquids flow is counteractive, resulting in the heat transfer efficiency to be three to five times greater than that of Shell & Tube heat exchangers.
